A lot of deckbuilder ideas in a solid game.
This deck builder has a lot of similarities with games like Star Realms/Hero Realms in it's game play. Deck builder games are a dime a dozen right now, but it's because they are easy to play and mostly pretty quick. Quick this game is not, but challenging and fun it is. Standard deck builders start with a small deck of cheap resource cards and a couple attackers. From there as the game goes on, those resources buy better cards. Finding combinations of cards that work well together will help you succeed in the game. One player is the Rebel alliance(Red cards) and the other is the Empire(Blue cards). But, there is also a Neutral faction of cards(gray) that can be recruited and a set of planets to choose from as their strongholds. You recruit the personalities and ships in the big deck to attack your opponents bases, ships, and in this game you also can attack cards in the "Galaxy Row", the cards available to both players to recruit from. The capital ships in the big deck act as buffers/fortresses to attacking your opponent. You must take those ships out before you can attack the planet. The object of the game is to destroy three of your opponents planets/bases to win. There is also a tracker for the force that goes back and forth, giving the player with "the force on their side" advantages on some cards. This is a fun deck builder game in a sea of games with the same basic mechanics. Although it will not blow you away with any innovation, it adds enough twists of the genre to be enjoyable. The 30 min play time I cannot agree with, our games were much longer. Time might decrease a bit as we become more accustomed to the game, but the battle back and forth between experienced players will draw out the games a lot.

Top deckbuilder for Star Wars universe
This is undoubtably one of my favorite deck building game. The game brings different flavor when playing as the Rebels or the Empire. The base aspect is new to the genre as well as bounty/sabotage mechanic. Overall it's really an amazing experience. It also plays very quickly and gameplay is flows smoothly. Waiting for Expansions!

This is the DBG I've been waiting for!!!
The game mechanics go well with the theme. Easy to pick up and play, but packed with strategy. More focused than other DBG's, so don't get lost with resources/counters or multiple drawing. I've played a lot of different DBG's and this by far is my favorite. Can't wait for the expansions to come for more gameplay. The bases with their abilities works great and makes it easy to track HP as well as win condition. Not having to count VP at the end of the game, or a large amount of HP to keep track of. The card art is great and the theme really flows with the gameplay. The force track is a nice addition to the gameplay. Very happy with this DBG!! The Force is strong with this one!!! Not super complicated. Easy to set-up. Good strategy. Great theme. Good balance of depth to simplicity!!

Love It! Even after Destiny it’s great.
Super fun game right out of the box. Watched the FF instructional video which helped. Really simple after that. The deck helps get the game moving. Speaking of the deck - the artwork is familiar if you’ve played SW Destiny. It’s awesome. This was my first deck building game and I love it. I do hope they can add expansion packs at some point. My 8 year old son help me set up the game and watched the video. He and I played the first game. But it’s my 13 yr old who really loves it and is very happy with it.

I think it might have been mentioned this was intended to be a stand-alone game but please consider making expansions for this game, we really enjoy it and I hope the game does well

4.5 might be more correct but its closer to a 5.
One of my favorite games is called Heart of Crown. Its a awesome deck building game that allows 2 to 4 players and uses a randomized set of card each game so that you can basically play a different version every time. When I saw Star Wars The Deck Building Game, I was definitely hoping it would be a lot the same. And, happily, it is. This is a really great game for 2 people that has the vibe of Star Wars down pat and is quick and easy to set up and play. Nothing is terribly complicated and there is a ton of variability you can bring into it. Fantasy Flight Games knows how to put together an attractive and intuitive game. The manual is pleasantly slim while offering a good and clear outline. During play we pulled it up a few times and while it is not all encompassing in its explanations it gives clear direction on how issues can be resolved. The cards are PERTY! I am a big Star Wars fan and so I take my art seriously. Every card has a high quality image from the expansive art collection FFG seems to have collected. You can see three of them in the picture but the main deck has a huge selection of different cards. And its fun to see a Mon Cala cruiser pop up in the galactic shop then have your opponent snipe it out before you can buy it. In terms of tactics and play, there can definitely be a feeling of falling behind. If your opponent focuses on income cards then they can out-buy you. If they focus on bounty hunting then a lot of your best cards will get discarded before you have a chance to get them. But the balance is there and you can sometimes claw your way back in. If I have complaints its that once you have played 4 or 5 games, you will have seen everything the game has to offer and you might wish there was more. At 36'ish bucks (as of writing) this is no big issue. Heart of Crown was in the 80's range so its not fair to compare. But I do hope that this is not simply a 1 and done game for FFG and that they will find new and exciting ways to add to the game. Maybe add 2 other factions. Maybe allow you to face the prequel series CIS or Republic. Heck... maybe just a card expansion deck that changes your win conditions. Either way I think its a great purchase that will be a good time.

Absolutely awesome
I have a ton of games, including other deck builders, and this is hands on the most enjoyable, replayable and addictive game I have. If you like Star Wars and deck builders, this is a no brainer. I would also highly recommend Air, Land and Sea - not a deck builder - but another card game in my top 5.
